Time & Time Again!

I keep finding that I haven't had much time for blogging these last few weeks. Maybe I just haven't made the time for it. Summer just gets SO crazy busy I don't know what to do with myself sometimes. I have so many projects going on that I get scatter-brained just thinking about them all. I have really got to make a goal to finish them in the next few weeks and I should be all set for a fun and carefree summer. Well I would have loved to give you an update on the last few weeks because I have been taking some really great pictures of little noodle to post. However, our hard drive gave out AGAIN! So once again, they are stuck on there for the time being. I made Steve go buy a new hard drive last night with 500 GB so we shouldn't be having this problem again after this week. I am on the dinosaur back-up computer today. Luckily, I still had some pictures on the camera from the weekend. So, here ya go......

For Memorial Day weekend, The Thuernagle Family (Katie's Family) met at our Dad's gravesite to drop off some beautiful flowers, chat a bit and play a game. Thanks to Aunt Mohna, we had a fun time learning about who goes where in the family tree. I think we did a great job of making all of the matches. Abigail kept Steve moving with all of her running around. After we finished there, we all headed to our house to share some snacks and chat some more. We had a great time. We let the kids go out for a bit and that ended up not being such a great idea. The older cousins started some sort of game of tag, while Abigail kept more to herself. She was just wandering around and WHACK! She got plowed by the older kids and kinda did a little face plant and her feet flew way up over her head. It happens all the time to the poor little kids who are just little and less noticeable to the older playing kids. She came out with a wound that I thought wasn't too bad but in the next few days turned out to be MUCH worse than I had imagined. Plus, she is in the 'bang her head on the floor throwing a fit' stage so it was the worst kind of injury for the stage she is in. Here are the pictures of her skinned up nose.
Here is right after it happened....doesn't look to bad eh? Just wait!
Here is day 2 with Grandma Ruth. If you are wondering why Abs is wearing Jadles (that is what we call PJ's) and a nightgown....she just felt like it so I let her...funny huh? She cracks me up.
Here is Day 3.....she wasn't speaking nicely to me so she got put into timeout. She banged her face against the pack and play and got blood all over it! Her hands were all bloody because she kept touching it. She just kept crying for a bandaid.

Here is Day 4...today! She is looking much better ( I really hope this isn't going to scar!) She is pulling the Abby Lou Who hair do off again today! GOTTA LOVE IT!

Happy Mother's Day!

Here is a picture of my Mother holding me in the hospital when I was born. I couldn't find a picture with her face in it.....I am sure there is one around here somewhere.

Here is a picture of me holding my baby...she was a few months in this one. I didn't want a hospital gown picture on here...sorry!

Here is Steve's Mother holding Abby, I think she was almost a week old in this picture. His parents traveled here from Oregon to see the baby and came back a few weeks later for the blessing!

Thanks to our Mother's for all that you do for us! We love you!

Went home with tears!

Saturday night Abby and I got together with some of our friends to have a game night. Abby usually stays right by me because she is kinda bashful in those situations with a lot of people. She has gotten to know these kids over the last few months a little better so she just took off and went to play. I was so happy to have a little freedom. Freedom that would soon haunt me! We were playing a game and eating junk food.....having a good time when Dale (our friend and the host that night) came out of his bedroom saying that Abby had gotten into something. I went in there to find her digging into a huge jar of Vaseline with both hands and then wiping it in her hair and on her face. Very embarrassed but calmly, proceeded to clean her up. Which is very difficult for those of you that have had this happen to you. Vaseline is so greasy you can't just wash it off. You just have to wipe off what you can and leave the rest to soak in. ANYWAY, I got her cleaned up and changed into her Jammie's and sent her downstairs to play with the other kids. Oh no sooner than about 30 minutes after that one of the girls came upstairs to tell me that Abby was scratching everyone. Mind you this child was NOT even crying but was actually bleeding! She had scratches down her face and they were bleeding from my Abs. So that is when I snapped...made Abby say sorry and we gathered our stuff and went home. I cried as soon as I got to the car because I was so embarrassed! Too sensitive? Maybe a little but with a first child I must say that some of these trials are interesting to handle by yourself. I love my husband, but he isn't a social man. So that leaves me to either sit home all the time while he is on the computer, or go out and attempt to have some fun. I definitely got more fun than I expected....LOL! Happy Mother's Day right? Thanks for listening to my ramble!

HELP!

I need help with my parenting skills! Here is a picture of Abby thinking of who she can get next! She has learned to be naughty! Abby will be 2 in a few months and is in my eyes a bully to other kids. She hits, scratches and pulls hair. I know all about the "terrible twos" blah, blah, blah.... still need help! I would love suggestions on parenting books that work. Thanks a million!

I know, I know!

I know that it has been too long since my last post! Sorry to everyone! Here is a little tag for everyone to enjoy!

TAG I'M IT!

3 Joys

1. My Daughther Abigail & My Husband Steve. They are my life! We have a ton of fun when we get to spend time together.
2. Listening to and singing music of all kinds. I have had a love for it since I was a very small child and that love continues to grow daily!
3. Cooking and baking. I LOVE IT! I really enjoy trying new recipes and creating things that are cool with food.

3 Fears

1. SHARKS! I don't swim in the ocean because of it.
2. Being alone during the night.
3. Not being able to have any more kids....or trying so hard to get them here(fertility drugs) that they come all at once!

3 Goals

1. Improve the communication in my marriage and family.
2. Continue losing weight. I want my pre-wedding body back!
3. Finish my education. I have an associate degree but would love to get my bachelors.

3 Obsessions

1. The Twilight series! I think that is hands down number 1 on the list because I just love it!
2. Eating chocolate & icecream. I can't seem to break the horrible obsession/habit that I have for sugar.
3. Porcelin Dolls....mainly Madam Alexander dolls. Thanks to my Mother for getting me hooked on them. They are pricey but worth looking at. I usually got one every year for Christmas when I was younger so it is fun that Steve has carried on that tradition.

3 Random/Surprising Facts about myself

1. I hate putting laundry away.
2. I love eating icecream while soaking in the tub....I know I'm weird!
3. I just got a bug for beading...I enjoy designing and creating art to wear.
