Abby Lou Who?

So I did up Abby Kate's hair the other day all cutesie and then she went down for a nap! I am so foolish as to think that she was going to come out of the nap just as she went in. What a joke! I don't know why but she is such a crazy sleeper and I have to do her hair several times in a day. ANYWAY.....let's back track a bit. I took Abs to the movies a few weeks ago with some friends of ours for a matinee. We decided that the kids would just love to see that new Dr Suess movie "Horton hears a Who". The kids had a blast by the way, and I thought the movie was cute. Abigail sat in her booster seat and just ate and ate and ate away at the popcorn, with her eyes fixed on the screen....she cracks me up. So, back to the nap story Abigail woke up that day looking like she belonged in that movie as a memeber of whoville community....HA! The picture doesn't show great detail but I had put a bunch of connected ponytails in there and it looked pretty cute. When she woke up all of the hair in the back was sticking pretty straight up, so for the rest of the day we called her Abby Lou Who! (BTW you can see a top view of the noodles hair in the Easter pictures. The one with her standing by aunty Em.)

WOW! It's the Easter Bunny!

So we hit 2 egg hunts this morning in the freezing cold weather! The one at the park was split up into age groups and the 0-2 didn't run to get eggs, we just waited in line to see the Bunny and he filled our baskets...nice eh?! The other one at the church was a run till you drop hunt. Abby made out pretty good on that one.....I think Isabel got the most out of all the kids! She is a wizard when it comes to egg hunts (thanks to Uncle Charlie getting her all excited and ready to go today!) Abigail kept saying see the Bunny, see the Bunny. She really wanted to see the Bunny and when we finally got the the Bunny she totally flipped out and started crying and continued to cry until we reached our car (clear across the park) It was pretty cold out and the kids were troopers just for being there to brave the weather. We had a great time! We hope you all have a super fun Easter holiday and have the spirit of Christ in your homes and in your heart!

Abby and her peeps

Here is Abs playing with her friends (from left to right Amelia, Abby, Olivia & Hannah) They have a great time together. Today was also the first time that I attempted braids in Abby's hair. They are super short but I think they are super cute!

Jane Austen

Man oh man, am I obsessed or what? Thanks to Masterpiece theatre I have recently gotten back into my love for the stories of Jane Austen and her life history. I just finished a book named "The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen" I enjoyed it thoroughly until I got the very end when I realized that half of the stuff in the book wasn't true. Although I enjoy a good love story with a very depressing ending...HA!!!!, I would prefer to read about actual events in her life. I should really be more careful about picking and choosing the books that I read when I am interested in real life events. If anyone has any good books that are based on her actual life, do share! It just pains me to no end to know about the life long love that she had for a certain man and that they were never able to marry. Call me BORING, but I love this kind of stuff. In fact, I was ranting and raving to Steve last night about all of it, and forced him to sit and listen to me read the last chapter of the book. It sparked an interest in his mind as well. I just may be the luckiest lady in the world because I have a husband that served a mission in England (the home of none other than the famous Jane Austen). So Steve's words last night after I finished reading that last chapter to him were as follows..."Wouldn't it be cool to go to England and visit her grave, go on a tour of all of the places that she visited in her life and do some research about this unnamed man that she loved her entire life?" My jaw dropped! "I would LOVE to do that honey, that was a fabulous suggestion" was my reply. COOL EH? So maybe in 50 years when we can afford to go to England, Steve and I will be taking all sorts of Jane Austen life history tours! As for those of you who don't have an interest in Jane Austen, you should get one! She is an amazing author. Sherrie, I know you have done some extensive research on Jane, I would love to either read you paper sometime if you have it on a file or have the references that you used. Thanks a million.

Playing in the Sun!

Here is a Picture of Aunt Emily, Isabel, Vaughn and Abigail having a fun time. Emily and the kids stayed in town for a few days and we had a great time. We miss you already but are so glad to have you closer :) Abigail is constantly wanting to call to talk with Baughn (Vaughn) She can't quite master the V sound but it is fun to hear her try. Yesterday she was calling out for Charlie. She wanted to call and talk with Uncle Charlie on the phone. I have to get sound of that posted on here. It is pretty cute to hear her say all of the cousins names. She even says Aunt Gretchen and very clearly....she is a smart and fun little noodle.

Abigail and her friend Hannah got to play outside yesterday. We are enjoying the sunshine in Idaho! We took a walk down to the park and around the block, ran into a fun friend to chat for a bit and before we knew it the wind had picked up and the sun went behind the clouds so we headed home. The snow is finally melting thought and it is getting into the 40's. Abigail is always begging to go outside and play. Next week should be much warmer so Abigail will be a happy camper. I will also be glad to get outside again and shed some of this winter weight :) Gotta get ready for the family trip to Lagoon in June!

In the NEWS!

Emily and I were on our way to a baby blessing yesterday in the early afternoon when she mentioned that the window in Chester was broken. I looked in sadness to my poor picked on car and hurried back into the house to tell Steve of the damage. He quickly got shoes on and this is what became of the afternoon. Here is a clip of the 5:00 news yesterday March 2, 2008. Chester (our camry) was a victim of some of the crimes happening in Idaho Falls. I guess there are some teenagers that have too much time on their hands these days. Steve did well talking with the channel 3 news crew. I wasn't at home when they came, I was still out and about with Emily so it was a surprise to me to even see him on the news! Good job Honey....you are a T.V. STAR!
