I think it's fair to say!

Rachel, our parents DID think that we looked a lot a like when we were children....I did too! I think it is fair to say that Abigail and I definately share the same genes. Here are some fun shots of when I was a little girl.
Me in a sweater that I am sure was made by my Grandmother Stosich.

Here I am at 2 talking on the phone. Abigail is always wanting to call someone.....she also always wants to have a PEN in her hand! Like Mother, like daughter....lol! Oh, and this is the closest age appropriate picture I could find, Abigail is 20 months now and the back of this picture says that I am 2 so.....there ya have it! This is one of my very favorite pictures of when I am little, mostly because it is hilarious......and the phone I am talking on is RED!!!! I love RED!

Crying my eyes out getting a picture taken.....look closely and you can see my tear stained cheeks.....

Sunday morning scramble...

Do you ever find that the later church gets the more you have to scramble to get everyone and everything ready? I DO! I don't know what it is. Maybe I just think that I will have plenty of time because Church doesn't start until 1 except then I forget, that I forgot to color something for primary, and that Abby's dress isn't ironed, and that the snack bag isn't ready, and I haven't printed my agenda, for singing time yet, and Abigail still needs a bath, AHHHHH......and then I just run out of time. When I had earlier church I was much better about doing the saturday thing to get ready for Sunday. This Sunday I was actually a little less rushed so Abs got the best of that deal and got all fancied up for church.

Here are the events of Sunday caught on film. We started out in P.J.'s (we call them peedle jaadles) here is a shot of Abs right in the middle of saying "CHEESE"!

Then we threw her in the bath and rolled her hair in these fabulous curlers. Curlers are great because the curls stay in so well!

Here she is right after the curlers came out!

Of course I HAD to put a huge bow in her hair. Oh, yeah, and I cut her bangs too. Doesn't she look so grown up? What a doll!

Twice IS a charm!

Just a little update on the plasma donating. Silly as I am I tried again today and was successful at it. I got all the way done without having any type of reaction or even feeling any nausea. Good times I tell you!

How Embarrassing!

About a month or so ago, a few of my friends told me about a plasma donation center that had opened up here in Idaho Falls. We all decided that we wanted to go and make some cash (good paying cash by the way!) so we set up the appointments and went for it. I didn't make it past the tests because I am on some medication that had to have a doctor's approval. That process took forever! The center had to send a paper to the Doctor's office for them to sign and send it back...doesn't sound too hard right? Well, the office sent it back and it sat at the center for an additional 2 weeks (filled out incorrectly) waiting for the approval of the center Doctor who was on vacation in Hawaii.... to approve me as a donor. The Doctor returned from Hawaii and still couldn't approve me because the paper was filled out wrong. So it had to be sent back AGAIN to the doc's office and so on and so forth.

Anyway after all this stuff was worked out, I finally got to go in and make some cash today...HA! and here is how it went. I was a little nervous so I had butterflies in my tummy. I haven't donated before (not even blood) Apparently donating plasma is super hard on the body if you aren't up to par on your health, it causes all sorts of issues. My appointment was at 6 a.m. so that I could get it done while Abby was still sleeping (she woke up at 4 a.m.) so much for that..HA! Onto the next, so I went into the center and they got me all set up and going. Seriously the poke wasn't bad at all, I honestly hardly felt it... so that was nice. I was feeling great and doing the whole pumping my fist thing and moving along nicely and then it HIT me. I had practically passed out and was trying to get some words out for someone to help me. They finally rushed over after a few minutes to rescue me and they barely got there in time for the nurse to lift up the garbage can for me to empty the contents of my tummy into...my whole body hurt so bad I felt like I could barely breathe. They quickly turned the machine off and got the reverse cycle going again with some IV fluids and made me drink a bottle of Gatorade, water and eat a granola bar right away so rehydrate my super fast. I felt better almost instantly but my blood pressure kept dropping so I couldn't finish the donation! FUN HUH? So I finally get in there and this is what I get....a reaction is what they call it. I ended up having to stay for like 20 minutes until my vitals stabilized before they would let me drive myself home. This all happened when I was about finished anyway and I still got paid...YIPPEE!

So for those of you who donate plasma, there is a lesson to be learned from incident today. Be a little smarter than I was and eat bacon and eggs for breakfast before you donate and that won't happen to you, and you can save yourself some embarrassment...HA!

I've been tagged!

10 YEARS AGO:

I was a senior at Skyline High School getting ready for graduation. Also participating in the season’s sport which was track…and probably getting ready for the State meet. I got 4th that year in the discuss. GO GRIZZLIES!

FIVE PLACES I HAVE VISITED:

1. Germany
2. New York City
3. Mexico
4. Austria
5. Atlanta, GA

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST:

1. Get a spare key made for Chester (our Camry….I lost my copy)
2. Clean the house
3. Donate plasma
4. Learn how to build a bathroom!
5. Save up for a vacation.

Lifetime Goals

1. Go on a trip to England with Steve
2. Be financially stable.
3. Build a dream house.
4. Have more children
5. Go on another cruise with my sisters!

THREE BAD HABITS:

1. Leaving laundry in the washer overnight. Arghhhhh! I always forget about it and then have to wash it again with baking soda to get the stink out! When my laundry is out of my sight, it is out of my mind. I will have main floor laundry one of these days!
2. Eating sweets. I just can’t get enough chocolate ice cream and candy. Easter was a huge drawback on the loosing scale. I will be working for months to get the Easter weight off
3. Taking naps with Abby. I don’t do it everyday but often enough! I should be more productive and get stuff done while she is sleeping but sometimes I just get SOOOOO tired!

FIVE THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME...

1. I enjoy sewing and creating patterns for new things.
2. I like to cook….and just love to try a new fancy recipe. Especially with baking. I just signed up to take my first cake decorating class!
3. Steve’s input is that people should know that I have A.D.D! HAAAAAAA!
4. I am terrified to swim in deep water. Just can’t bring myself to do it. I have only ever been knee deep in the ocean because I am too afraid to go farther. Funny thing is that I have had a lifelong dream to learn how to surf. I think I would actually be great at it because I have pretty good balance…don’t think it will ever happen though because you kind of have to go farther than knee deep to catch a wave!
5. I am obsessed with the life of Jane Austen! Steve said he is going to take me to England one of these days and we will go on a Jane tour. FUN EH?!!!!

Big Girl Bed for a Big Girl!

Abby decided last week that she wanted a new pillow (that's what she calls the spare bed in her room). So what she really meant was she wanted a new bed. For naps we have been putting her in the big girl bed to get her used to it and she was loving it. She apparently has been anxious to get out of her crib...but has never been able to climb out or hasn't really tried that hard. So we got her all set up for a big girl bed. The crib came down, the spare bed came out(which was a full size) and we put the twin size bed up. Steve fixed up the frame for the bed and got it all put together and hauled up to the room and then Kate took over to get all the sheets on and made it nice and cozy for a snuggly night's rest. We headed off to the store sometime in between all the moving madness to get a safety rail for the bed. One of the days that she napped on the full size bed she rolled off in her sleep...we wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. Abigail was so surprised and excited to go to bed that night so it took a few extra stories for her to settle in for the night. WOW, what a difference the bed has made for Abby's sleeping patterns. She sleeps in until almost 8....yahoo! Whew, so, Abby is growing up fast and is turning into a big girl like her cousins and all her friends! We love her to death!
